Just a few weeks ago, we posted that Grande Prairie Storm’s goalie Connor Mackenzie had raised $20,000 for CMHA ANWR.

Connor set up a Lift the Mask on Mental Health campaign last fall, as part of his commitment to support mental health here in Grande Prairie and encourage athletes to take care of their mental health.

Since then, Connor’s campaign has reached an astounding new level: over $30,000. This has blown away his original goal of $25,000. And it’s an example of what can happen when great leadership meets great generosity.

We’re now in the process of co-developing a youth course called Lift the Mask on Mental Health in honour of Connor’s work.

Thank you to Connor, and all the Grande Prairie Storm fans that have made this campaign such a fantastic success. The community will continue to benefit from what you’ve accomplished for CMHA ANWR.
